back to normal life・7/17/2025

i'm back from my vacation! it was really nice to get away for a couple days and spend time with my family. but i also get anxious sometimes when im away from home and my cat for too long, so i'm glad to be back in columbus.
i'm planning to make a couple posts about the different things we did on the trip including visiting the cleveland museum of art to see takashi murakami's special exhibition, stepping on the tail of a rainbow, hiking at watkins glen state park, and a trip to the strong museum of play and the george eastman museum. it was a busy trip but i'm glad we got to see and do everything we wanted.
it's hard for me to get back into my routines when i take a break. i'm not the most disciplined person, even though i wish i was. i've tried to change that about myself this past year (not like the past 12 months but more in a 2025-new-years-resolution type of way). now i go to the gym almost daily, plan my meals (and try to eat healthier in general), and i somewhat stick to a budget... somewhat. lol. i'm trying to buy less and accumulate less stuff because i already have too many things. in adddition to prioritizing my creative practice, im also trying to use up the materials i have before buying any more.
although lately i've been interested in experimenting with clay. and i don't have any clay. i want to try out some projects using air-dry clay because i also have lots of acrylic paint i could use with it.
but i also have tons of fabric, yarn, stationery, etc, and i feel like i need to be using that stuff up first. i've been trying to experiement with some yarn stash-busting projects to get rid of the bulk of what i have. i have some high-quality yarns with dreams of using it to make a really involved project someday but most of my stuff is cheap and just needs to be used up.
i guess that's enough rambling for now. i'll be back soon with more posts about everything mentioned above!
ok thx bye ♡♡♡♡♡

new post・7/11/2025

hi! this is my second post.
ok thx bye ♡♡♡♡♡

my first post・7/10/2025

hi! thanks so much for checking out my neocities site!
i have been feeling very overwhelmed by social media lately and i spend way too many hours on my phone each day.
so in an effort to avoid endless scrolling, i made this page. it's sort of a blog i guess, i'll be posting my art, talk about music and movies, just share stuff i like with fewer distractions (and no algorithm ♡)
maybe it will help me feel more inspired and give me something to do?
i'm sitting in my room rn listening to music and editing the html and feeling weird deja vu because i just miss myspace i guess. i get to relive it a little bit w/ neocities. the html editor reminds me of tumblr too lol
at first i was thinking all my posts would have a similar format, but idk if i want to commit to that. i think i'll just talk about what i want when i want.
and today i want to talk about my recent hyperpop obsession.
i enjoy hyperpop because it reminds me so much of my favorite crunkcore and scene metalcore bands (can you tell i have a nostalgia problem?)
i probably shouldn't be admitting this, but i still regularly listen to 3OH!3 and breathe carolina and attack! attack! ...
when charli xcx's brat came out last summer, i fell in love and it quickly became one of my top albums.
then, while scrolling tik tok a couple months ago (yeah the very thing i was just complaining about above), i found this track:
oh my god, i lost my mind when i heard it. IT'S SO SO GOOD. jane is a genius and the entire revengeseekerz album is incredible, so layered, very ragey, no skips.
i know some people say she's not hyperpop, or at least isn't anymore. and i guess i'll hear you out on that but sometimes i think the subgenres are way too specific lol
like if we're drilling down that far, practically every artist becomes their own genre. it's like the stupid ai-generated playlists spotify makes called "moody video game girly slacker rock thursday night" like what does that even mean
anyways... here's a couple more songs i am listening to over n over, some old, some new, some hyperpop, some maybe not:
thanks for reading all that if you did! and i'll be back to talk about more music soon.
there's also a couple movies i saw recently that i'll probably write a little something about.
ok thx bye ♡♡♡♡♡
